Un Mundo De Flamenco, En Video

A while back I posted a concern about a string of posts where I had become dependant on linking videos I came across on YouTube. I vowed not to post the brainless videos and silly shit which can be found there, but since then I’ve been pulling videos off the site using VideoDL and iSquint. I’ve pulled many videos of Toros, but one day I found some very interesting videos I didn’t know where there. I found a buco supply of Flamenco videos. The videos I’ve come across range from live concerts to music videos. Up until YouTube surfaced, I had never seen a Flamenco music video. I have a liking for Flamenco because of the passion and dedication it requires, similar to Toros. On the header to DBB, it states “A liberal website of bulls,…flamenco and other chingaderas”. Truth told, I have not really posted that much on Flamenco in the past three years. I’ve been wanting to post content, but I had not had the resources. So finding these videos have enabled me to grow my little collection. As you know Spain is a big part of my life. Flamenco and Toros are the heart and soul of Spain and they define me as an individual. Besides, there does not exist any form of music with so much pain, joy, passion, desire and agressiveness. In one word, “duende“. Duende is the soul of Flamenco. Its the attitude. Its the meaning. It is the force behind the lifestyle. The same can be said for Bullfights. To have the attitude in Toros is to be “siempre en torero”. Live the life as a torero, and see the world as a torero. It is the same as duende in Flamenco. There is duende in the music, in the dancing and in the people. Another reason Flamenco is part of my life is my wife has studied and performed Flamenco dancing (picture). We have many friends in the San Diego Flamenco scene and she even took classes with Farruquito, probably the best contemporary dancer today. I plan to post videos of dance, cante, guitar and live performances of all three in the future. So here are three videos I found of the top Flamenco guitarist today: 1) A young Vicente Amigo performs with La Macanita.2) An even younger Tomatito performs una buleria.3) A music video of the master, Paco de Lucia from the 2004 album Cositas Buenas.
